A Elderly Woman and Her Cat Were Inseparable, in Life and in Death

A Elderly Woman and Her Cat Were Inseparable, in Life and in Death
My grandma and her cat were inseparable – in life and in death.

Four hours after my grandma’s 15-year-old cat died, my grandma passed away, too, and I don’t think it was a coincidence.

Gabby was 2 years old when my Grandma and Grandpa adopted her.

When they brought her home, she immediately went upstairs, found a bed to curl up on and made herself comfortable. She knew she was in the right place – for a nap and for life.

A Elderly Woman and Her Cat Were Inseparable, in Life and in Death

Shortly after Gabby became a permanent member of the family, Grandpa died. Not able to keep up with a big house on their own, Grandma and Gabby moved into an apartment complex for seniors, where help was offered if they needed it, but still allowed for independence.

As a kid, I was enamored with the loving relationship between my grandma and Gabby, and I knew that as soon as I was able to get my own pet, I would. I wanted the same companionship and unconditional love that Grandma and Gabby offered each other.

Until the very end, Gabby spent her days hanging out with Grandma and her nights walking on Grandma’s head while she tried to sleep. You know, typical roommate stuff.

They both started to slow down around the same time, but continued to be two sweet old ladies who enjoyed each other’s company.

A Elderly Woman and Her Cat Were Inseparable, in Life and in Death

Eventually, Gabby would keep to herself for most of the day, and she wasn’t interacting much with Grandma. Grandma wasn’t able to eat much anymore, and had dropped too much weight. They were both nearing the end, and Gabby was ready.

Grandma took her to the vet and together they decided the best thing to do would be to put her to sleep. Grandma held Gabby and comforted her as she closed her eyes for the last time.

Grandma lost her best friend and, perhaps, her soul mate. After Gabby was gone, Grandma went home and took a nap on the couch. She never woke up.

She died four hours after Gabby. Maybe it was just her time and a strange coincidence, maybe she died of a broken heart or maybe their souls couldn’t be separated.

Nowadays, my dog and I are just as obsessed with one another as Grandma and Gabby were. And I have Grandma to thank for instilling in me the importance of having pets and loving them hard.

I like to think that Gabby was there in spirit to comfort Grandma as she took her last breath, just as Grandma did for Gabby a few hours earlier.

They are buried together, and I’m certain their bond is still just as strong as it was when they were two little old ladies loving life and each other.

Heartbroken Cat Spends 1 Year By Her Dead Owner’s Grave

Heartbroken Cat Spends 1 Year By Her Dead Owner’s Grave

This cute kitten loved her owner so much she couldn’t bear to leave her side.

A year has passed since owner passed away, but the loytal kitty still hasn’t left her old lady’s grave. Passer-by Keli Keningau Prayitno, 28, from Central Java, Indonesia, was the first to hear the mourning kitty’s cries and tried to help the cat by adopting her. But that didn’t work – the next day the feline returned to the same spot – nuzzling the small blue headstone of her owner’s grave.

The only times she leaves the spot is when she goes to her owner’s children’s house where they feed her. Strangers who see her also give her food and water, but the cat wants nothing but to roll in the earth and sleep at the grave every night.

“She sleeps there and meows, ” said Keli “It’s very sad to see. It shows just how close animals are to their owners.”

Keli heard the cries of a mourning cat that sat on her old lady’s grave

It turns out the cat spent the whole year in the graveyard as she can’t get over her loss

Someone tried to adopt the kitty, but she ran away to be next to the grave

“saw her everyday and noticed that she was always there, but sometimes would leave for a couple of hours then come back.”

Animal experts say that cats may seem too cool and aloof, but grieving after an owner’s death is very real. Felines can also become anxious, lose interest in the outer world, and become unlike themselves.

In some severe cases, it is encouraged to contact a vet and discuss getting anti-anxiety medication for your cat.

And who said cats don’t have feelings for their owners? Please share with friends to let them know that cats are loyal companions as well.

30-year-old Abu Fathiyyaturahma Menk Abdun Mujtahid is a paralympic athlete. He and his disabled friend were on their way to the nearby Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex when they spotted a kitten stuck in a drain, struggling to hold onto the concrete barriers. Although Abu is unable to use his legs and the odds are stacked against both of them, he didn’t hesitate to get out of the wheelchair to help the stranded cat.

Abu carefully reached his arm down, picked up the kitten away from danger and moved it to safer place. The kitten appeared to be fine, so she happily left him and went about her business as soon as Abu set it down on the grass.

Motorcyclist acts quickly and save tiny kitten found in the middle of the road

This motorcyclist noticed an abandoned kitten in the middle of the road. Thankfully he swerved around it, but he had to act quickly to stop other motorists. However, that wasn’t enough. So, the motorcyclist, identified as Quentin, went back to help, and his headcam caught the whole thing on film.

Firstly, Quentin sees the kitten while riding in Mons, Belgium. So, he and a man in a car stop to see if it is alright. But, as they run to it, stopping the traffic, they fear the worst.

The motorcyclist picks up the scared kitten and checks it is okay. However, he then reveals that he is allergic to cats, so can’t take it home. But luckily, the man from the car offers his help.

If you want to understand what they’re saying, here’s the full translation (thanks to a Redditor). The video is below, if you want to see the action firsthand.

A Very Kind Motorcyclist

Biker: There’s a little kitty in the middle of the road. This is a joke?
Man in car: I saw that.
Biker: Yes yes.
Man in car: Stop.
Biker: No. Come here, you. Come. Little one (lou lou), what are you doing here? Oh, little one.
Man in car: What to do with him?
Biker: I don’t know. I’ve picked him up here but unfortunately, I’m allergic. But well, I can’t leave him here.
Man in car: What to do with him?
Biker: What’s wrong my little one? Come.
Man in car: We’ve gotten lost, huh?
Biker: Lost or he was left here. How else could he have gotten here?

Man in car: Give him to me.
Biker: You’ll take him? Oh, thank you, sir.
Man in car: [unintelligble]
Biker: Oh, he’s stuck. Gently.
Man in car: Says something unintelligible -> You don’t see his mother or something, right?
Biker: Well, it’s strange that he’s out here in the middle of nowhere. Oh, he’s so cute.
Man in car: [unintelligble]
Biker: Yes, it’s fine. Thank you so much.
Man in car: I won’t throw him in the ditch.
Biker: Well no. Have a good day, goodbye.

Bijou and her siblings were about 48 hours old when they were rescued from a shelter.

None of them were in good shape, but their foster family helped to get the tiny cats all stable.

There were five kittens in the litter, sadly, one did not make it. Bijou was the smallest of the four surviving kittens – weighing only 2.6 ounces.

When she hit 4 ounces, she seemed to stop gaining weight. It was touch and go for some time with Bijou.

She would gain a few grams and then lose them again.

At nine weeks of age, she weighed 8.2 ounces and was a happy, healthy micro cat!
What Bijou lacks in size, she makes up for with her personality! When she turned 4 months old, Bijou only weighed 1.6 pounds.

Bijou will always be small, but she has thrived under the care of her foster family.
Bijou and her siblings were very lucky to have found their way into the loving arms of a foster family.
